Dr. Shalini Kesar Among Utah’s 30 woman to Watch by Utah Business
Southern Utah University’s Dr. Shalini Kesar has been named one of the 30 Women to Watch by Utah Business for 2021. Recipients of the award include women who are passionate and dedicated to bringing diversity and inclusion to the business and technology world. Celebrating women who are on their way to amazing things, the list includes presidents, CEOs, CFOs, entrepreneurs, authors, and educators in Utah.
“It is humbling and an honour to be included with a pool of such talented and empowering women within Utah,” said Dr. Kesar.
Cybersecurity Innovations & Trends in Technology
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in the United States. Phishing, ransomware, identity theft, and video conferencing are among the most prevalent vulnerabilities in cybersecurity.
Dr. Shalini Kesar, associate professor of information systems at Southern Utah University, joined other professionals and students in the field for a panel discussion celebrating National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October 2020
Utah’s First Women in Cybersecurity Professional Program
WiCyS is a premier organization with an international reach dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research, and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking and mentoring. Established in 2012 by Dr. Ambareen Siraj of Tennessee Tech University through a National Science Foundation grant, WiCyS is a nonprofit organization offering many membership, sponsorship and collaboration benefits.
